Whether it was this or Woody's HELP ME thread...people in this community have shown why this is a great area to live in. It just shows you the spirit of this area. I knew it was a great community the first tim…

How long will you be gone? Do you know?
I'm glad you can dump those things once in a while. Damn, it's gotta feel like you're on the moon once you drop them. Light and agile.
Have you decided to make the army a career? I'll be praying for you to come back safe and sound. I've got a really good feeling about you. I think you're going to do good things over there and I've just got a hunch you won't be there too long. Never forget how much the American people care about you guys and what you are doing over there. Godspeed.
It is so good to hear from you! I was getting worried. Good luck on the "Yes We Can" tour of duty. You always make me laugh or smile in spite of our obvious political differences. Hang in there. Dang - It's gonna be hot over there this time of year isn't it?
Also, I was looking at some footage of our guys over there and amazed once again at the size of those back packs. What the heck is in them? I don't know how you guys can fight with all that weight on you. Aren't they about 70 lbs? I hate the thought of our guys fighting with all that weight against snipers that can run and hide more easily. Stay safe.
Tony. Haven't heard from you for awhile. Is everything Ok with you? My thoughts are with you, Tanya and the kids today after hearing the news.
Write when you can, ok?
Working in the DV field, most have social work degrees.
I personally do not have a degree, although I went to Ferris State University for three years. I started working at another shelter, and I was good at it. Now, I work in this area (not Cove of Ludington) and I have been there five years. It is rewarding and stressful--but it alternates! :)
Right now we deal with a lot of homeless, because of the economy.
Hi T. How ya been? I've been thinking a lot about your idea for charging stations for batteries for cars. Can you point me in a direction where I could find some info on it?
I'm so discouraged about the way things are going in the auto industry. Now the big three and the Japanese are screaming about the plan to help Americans actually buy fuel efficient cars that were assembled in the states.
Jeeeeez. Someone's gotta take a step in the right direction.
Hi T - I once lived in a log home and just loved the way it looked and felt. I had it decorated perfectly - a style that really matched the structure. But you're right about heating it. We froze in the bedroom in the winter. One night I actually wore a hat to bed! The top of my water glass would be frozen in the morning. We ended up sleeping out in the living room near the heater during the coldest months. And in the summer that baby was hot - just like a wood oven.
As far as your lake house, my niece and the newest "love of her life" may be looking to spend a lot more time up here. We are very close and she visits often, but I don't have room for her boyfriend....just a single bed in the study for when she visits alone. I'll let her know.
You are a lot like me in terms of wanting perfection. You'll mellow out a little as you get older - promise. It's amazing what now seems important to me and what was so darn important when I was your age. But it's all good. Just remember to enjoy these times now when the kids are still at home. ...I'm sure you will though.
Hi T. What a great house! It is so cozy looking and I love the big deck. You should be able to find something in a good price range here once you're out.
There are some really good deals on land and homes now. Bad time for sellers as you know.

Say hi to your wife and kids from your screamin' liberal friend. :)
