We are currently waiting for the city to vote on the project. We will have all winter to raise the needed money to build and set up(establish) the dog park. All interested in the dog park....please contact me. We will be needing your help with fundraising. I would love to hear your ideas:)

It is a great park. My sister lives next to it. Large enough for the dogs and their owners to spread out; room enough for walks on a couple trails all enclosed by fencing. There's an annual fee issued by the county park system where you put a sticker on your car for access. This kind of park is the exception I think as most are smaller.

October 14, 2009 - Michigan Tails Pet Magazine readers recently named Orion Oaks Bark Park as the Best Dog Park in Michigan. The park, located at Clarkston and Joslyn Roads, offers a 14-acre fenced enclosure, including a special spot for small dogs, two trails, water, field area and access to Lake Sixteen for swimming.

We are still in negotations with the City of Ludington. This is not going to happen overnight. There are lots of hoops to jump thru.

Our group is currently filing for non profit status. We will be able to start fundraising shortly. We just need to get the property figured out. I know we could go ahead and fundraise without property. But it really would be better to have the property all figured out first. I know some people would donate no matter where the park is but others will only donate if it in a certain area.
Fundraising ideas? We have a ton but it is always great to hear from all of you:)

Yes, we were looking at that property. We as a group are making progress. Our group has a meeting tonight. I will update everyone this weekend.
Have a safe and happy weekend!

I was walking dog yesterday and noticed water tower by orieal field is a much bigger lot than I had thought it was.It is by far 4 times bigger than Manistes dog park. And its 2 blocks from my house that would be great for me as im still offering to mow for free if its local. I added pics of manistes park a month ago that can be found under my profile in pics.
