Comment by CSSSC on August 21, 2009 at 11:52am: Bridge opening celebration will be at High Noon on Friday. Free hotdog cook out to follow at Riverside Park. We will also be drawing for our bridge bucks give away. Over $1000 in gift certificates to give away.

Comment by Patsi Wertz on August 21, 2009 at 11:50am: I grew up in Scottville and now live in Grand Rapids. I get homesick so often and everytime I come home to visit, it's like taking a big, deep breath of relaxation. I don't know what it is about that little town but it will always be my home.

Scottville was once more populated and more productive than Ludington.
Scottville obviously doesnt have Lake Michigan, but ,Scottville does have other resources.
Scottville should gear up live entertainment and recreational activities.
Expand produce markets and flea markets, to create an outdoor shopping experience.
Build skate parks,community pools,mini-golf,schuffle board,horse shoe pits,picnic areas,batting cages and everything Ludington doesnt have.
The good part is that Scottville is a small city where people can park and do everything within a short walking distance.Get planners and investors on board.
Develope transit from Ludington and other rural areas.
Eventually, people will come.
Improve housing and rentals downtown is a great start.

Scottville doesn't have a newspaper so many use the Ludington Daily News to get their local happenings, so it just seems to be the same that Scottville residents would use Ludingtontalks to discus local issues. With the option to make a group, I don't think it is really necessary to have a bunch of different domain names.

Comment by Shoreline Media, Inc. on February 26, 2009 at 2:49pm: Thanks for starting this group, we actually own the domain name, Scottville Talks and thought about starting up each little town's talks site, but would rather all of the discussion just take part here, so we don't have to pay for all the others' associated costs and so all of the discussions could be in one place, as opposed to scattered. We think this is the best way to build a real community.
